So when I first started this blog, my only goal was to post writing assignments from class and occasionally come up my own stories. I had no idea how long this would last. In fact, I assumed I would just forget about the blog all together.
There were definitely some moments where it seemed like I would give up on the blog. When I got into grad school, there wasn’t enough time to post regularly. I got swamped with so much work. And yet…I still posted every once in a while.
Now that I’m posting more frequently, my blog is starting to gain some more traction. I decided this year to start accepting submissions from anyone willing to submit their own work for everyone to read.
This isn’t anything to brag about, but I’ve already had five amazing submissions so far and I cannot wait to see what else people are going to send me. But enough build up…
New ‘Books of the Month’ Section
I now have a brand new Books of the Month section dedicated to what I’m reading and what books have either recently come out, are on my reading list, or I’m just hearing about online or on the many podcasts I listen to.
Like I mention in the section itself, reading is a huge part of writing, and what we read also says a lot about who we are. This blog has been missing this section for a while now.
I figured there were tons of blogs already writing reviews and that I wanted to do something different, but I think simply listing what I’m currently reading and what’s sparking my interest will be enough to generate new ideas for myself and you guys.
I’m really excited to see what you all think about it so please go check it out now and let me know what you think. I’m definitely open to suggestions. I know it’s the middle of the month right now so I think I’ll leave these books up until April and then continue at the beginning of the month from that point on.
