Love Is in the Air

Good news! I have another poetry submission for you all! I received this poem a little while ago and I knew it had a place on this blog by offering the reader a unique twist on love.

Based on the title, the reader is set out to think this is just a simple love poem, but as you’ll see, it immediately turns into something more. Hope you all enjoy!

Love Is in the Air

By Swetha S K

Is love in the air?
I looked around everywhere.
Didn’t find it anywhere!
Guessed it’s not here, but elsewhere.
Where? I don’t know! Decided to search, so.
Just then blew the breeze,
And I happened to look at the trees.
I heard the buzzing bees,
And birds singing at ease.
Their voice live and loud,
Upon each other, so much love they bestowed.
For once, I felt love is in the air,
Walked further, not knowing where.
I saw a flower bed,
They all slayed in red!
The blowing breeze touched the flower,
One by one they bent lower,
Gently touching one another,
Kissed a kiss, very tender!
Once more, I felt love is in the air,
Walked further, not knowing where.
The cold breeze touched the warmth of my cheeks,
Unaware of what exactly it speaks.
Swept my hair across my face,
Making it feel like a familiar embrace.
Propelled by the warm embrace,
I looked around and gazed!
Not to find anyone,
But only the breeze having all the fun!
Alone I stood with no one to stare,
Perceived that love is only in the air!
