I treated myself to a pair of headphones for my birthday, and they finally came in the mail. I ordered them off Massdrop. They buy products in bulk and sell them at a discounted price. I managed to get a pair of thinksound On2s for $80 instead of $200. I’ve never had a pair of headphones like these so I’m truly blown away by them.
This poem is the experience I’m feeling right now wearing them while I listen to music as if it were the first time. They’re not active noise canceling headphones, but they still drown out everything regardless. I feel like I could just get lost in a quality beat and just write and write and write.
Pick and Choose
Lost in a universe of my own,
as the one I’m present in
goes on without me.
(Sometimes it happens
naturally, against my will,
but I’m used to it.)
The sun goes up and
down, the moon still spins
around the earth,
and I’m present for it all,
regardless; I feel the power
of picking and choosing.
